Our approach to therapy combines an in-depth intake to better understand your unique situation. During this time our goal is to get to know you better and focus is on building a trusting therapeutic relationship. You are an important part of determining which therapeutic modality may be used. A therapeutic modality is a treatment approach that your provider will use to help you learn new things about yourself and set them into action in a way that works best for you.

We provide in-person and telehealth counseling. Treatment services are tailored to serve the needs of each person and can address a wide range of mental health and personal wellness concerns.
Couples Counseling
Our therapists understand every couple struggles in their relationship at some point. We specialize in helping you heal and strengthen your connection with the person you care most about.
Family Counseling
Working with the client’s family unit from a strength-based approach can create life change together. Family therapy creates an opportunity to access increased support and understanding with the family unit that is closest to the client.
Child/Adolescent Counseling
We work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that will effectively guide your youth toward improved behavioral and mental health. Evidenced based approaches such has Play Therapy are used to encourage natural expression of emotions, minimize disruptive behaviors, and integrate coping skills.
Therapeutic Approaches
Mindfulness
Noticing our thoughts and feelings, helps you to be open to the present moment and engage more fully in your life. It is through a regular mindfulness practice, you can enhance your connection with others and the world around you.
DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is an evidenced-based psychotherapy focused on skill development for those managing intense emotions and difficulty with relationships. The “dialectic” is an acknowledgment that life is complex and constantly changing and finding the balance between both is possible.
Gottman
Gottman Therapy is a form of couples-based therapy and education that has been developed from years of research. The focus is on developing skills and understanding based on what research shows works in relationships and, an awareness of how couples can react and repair relations when they hurt each other.
Play Therapy
Play Therapy is an evidenced-based intervention that recognizes the relationship between therapist and the child as the primary healing element. Through various modes of play, children learn about emotions and how to express themselves through actions when they might not have the words to explain what is going on inside of them.
LGBTQI+
Affirmative therapy validates and advocates for the needs of client regarding sexuality and gender identity. Our therapists demonstrate verbal and non-verbal affirming stances to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons of all ages.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a psychotherapy that helps people learn how to identity and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions. Once negative thought patterns are identified, new skills are learned that can be used in real-world situations.
Solution Focused
Solution Focused Brief Therapy emphasis’s short-term, goal attentive, evidence-based therapeutic approaches by utilizing positive practices and principles that help clients concentrate on solutions rather than problems. SFBT provides space for the client to discover a future-oriented vehicle to formulate and explore positive sustaining desired behavior.
Current Classes
Yoga
Yoga is offered at Through the Woods Wellness Center in a unique home like atmosphere. This setting, along with the ability to start and end each series with the same group, allows an opportunity to establish meaningful connections with others. Our yoga classes welcome individuals of all fitness levels. Our knowledgeable yoga instructors will guide participants through mindful movements with attention to breath and body awareness leaving you refreshed and renewed with an overall sense of well-being.
Fall and Winter 2023 Offerings
Hatha Yoga Series
Gain mental clarity, experience reduced stress and improve your sense of inner peace when you join this foundational yoga class. Hatha yoga focuses on crating harmony between the mind, body, and spirit through slow and deliberate poses.
Yin Yoga Series
Gentle and meditative style of yoga that focuses on deep stretching and relaxation. Poses are held for an extended period of time to target to the connective tissues and improve flexibility. Yin Yoga promotes a sense of calm and balance, a perfect practice for reducing stress and enhancing mindfulness.
